This announcement will cover the following topics:

Our teachers have surveyed their parents to verify whether or not they would like to pick up their student’s belongings if any were left in the classroom in March. We will be inviting those parents that responded to the survey to come and pick up your student’s belongings depending on your students’ homeroom teacher’s last name.
If your student’s homeroom teacher’s last name begins with the letter A through G, then you will come and pick up your students’ belongings on Tuesday, May 26th.
If your student’s homeroom teacher’s last name begins with an H through M, then you will come and pick up your students’ belongings on Wednesday, May 27th.
If your student’s homeroom teacher’s last name begins with an N through R, then you will come and pick up your students’ belongings on Thursday, May 28th.
If your student’s homeroom teacher’s last name begins with an S through Y, then you will come and pick up your students’ belongings on Friday, May 29th.
Pick up time will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM each day, and we will be located in the bus ramp area. For social distancing purposes, we have reversed the normal flow of traffic. Please follow all signs and directives. When you arrive in the bus rider area, you will tell the staff member the student’s name, grade level, and homeroom teacher. You will be asked to pull forward, and you will wait for our staff member to retrieve your student’s materials. Your student’s materials will be placed on a cart, and the cart will be wheeled close to your car’s window, and you will be able to retrieve the items without ever having to leave your car.
If you ordered Spring Lifetouch pictures, you may come during the afore listed times and pick them up along with your student items you may require.
If you have one of our media center books, please return them to the box in front of our media center door beginning today, and before May 29th between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Stay safe Horizons’ families!
Saludos!

Lunches

We’re making changes to our meal distribution service and sites beginning Monday, April 13.

First, please note that meal service will not be available on Friday, April 10, since schools will be closed and staff will not be working.

Beginning Monday, April 13, we will only distribute meals three days per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Extra food will be provided each day to make sure children’s needs are met.

Distributing meals three days per week will help safeguard our families and employees by requiring fewer trips to pick up food.

Starting Monday, April 13, we also will be making changes to the number and list of sites serving as meal distribution locations.

For a complete list of food locations and other details, please visit polkschoolsfl.com/lunchlocations.

Please note that PCPS no longer requires that children be present to receive meals. Although we prefer that children are present (to help ensure the meals are going to the right place), it is not required.

If children are not present, please bring their school ID, or be ready to provide their names/schools to PCPS staff. This is necessary for record-keeping purposes.

Families are still welcome to visit any meal distribution site to receive food. This service is available to all Polk County children, including students of public, private and charter schools, and homeschool students.
